Our Ride

This is a charity bike ride. We welcome riders of all abilities, some of whom will cover the 82 miles in less than 4 hours, turn around and ride back again and some will take 9 hours dressed as Evel Knievel so please do not let this deter you, as we would particularly like to attract the non rider, the fancy dress rider, the occasional cyclist.

It’s a great opportunity to challenge yourself and raise some money for charity.

We know that regular club riders will find it more difficult to raise donations as it’s not out the ordinary to ride 82 miles in a day. So why not double it and ride back, push yourself and raise as much as you can. Every penny our riders raise gets paid directly to charity. Your entrance fees and other donations cover all our costs.

Non riders will probably take 6 to 8 hours to complete the ride and will find it tough but rewarding. You will need to do a couple of 20 mile rides before the event to get your bottom used to the saddle, after all you will want to be able to sit down the following day.

We make sure to support every rider who takes part to get over the finish line.

On the Day

The day starts with signing on at around 6.00am at the Linney Building in Mansfield (NG18 4FL). The ride starts at 6.30am.

Your bag containing a change of clothes will be taken direct to the Royal Hotel in Skegness.

During the course of the ride you should expect the see the support cars a few times. Faster riders at the front probably won’t want or need any support, however it is there if needed. Our slower riders towards the rear may expect to see the support cars much more regularly.

On arrival at the Royal Hotel in Skegness you will be able to shower and change. Food will be provided from midday onwards and around 3.00pm we will run a short medals presentation.

The grounds of the Royal Hotel are an ideal place to enjoy a beer or two and chill out with family, friends and other riders.

Many of us stay over and you are more than welcome to join us for a fun fill night in Skeg!
